Turning carbon into value

We intercept CO₂ from industry and from the air, then convert it into permanent, useful minerals. Our technologies turn a liability into a durable asset, in line with the Circular Carbon Economy.

Core Technology

Our core technology

Most carbon strategies delay the problem. MERSAAD ends it. We convert CO₂ into solid mineral forms that do not leak, burn, or reverse. The carbon stays locked, and the minerals we create carry real industrial value.

Four states of the same carbon atom. Open any one of them.

Our technologies

Two product lines, one mission

CarbonLock

Locking carbon, creating value

CarbonLock captures CO₂ from the air and from industrial sources and mineralizes it into stable carbonates and industrial specialty chemicals. Permanent removal that also produces sellable materials.

SandBind

Locking carbon, stabilizing sand

SandBind turns loose desert sand into stable, load-bearing ground through controlled mineral bonding, while locking carbon in place. Delivered as an engineered service for infrastructure and land.

Why mineralization

Why we mineralize carbon

Permanent by nature

Once CO₂ becomes a carbonate mineral, it stays solid. There is nothing to monitor for leaks and nothing to reverse.

Value, not just storage

Every ton we lock also yields carbonates and industrial specialty chemicals, or stronger ground. The removal pays its way.

Built for the region

Our processes are designed for arid, high-brine, high-sand environments, using resources the region already has.

Rooted in research

Grounded in science

MERSAAD works with the College of Petroleum Engineering and Geosciences at KFUPM and with Dhahran Techno Valley. We have signed a research and development agreement with KFUPM and IP commercialization agreements that bring university research toward real deployment.

The opportunity

The gap the world needs to close

CO₂ makes up more than 70 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions. The world needs durable carbon removal at a scale far beyond what exists today. Saudi Arabia introduced the Circular Carbon Economy framework and championed it at the G20. MERSAAD is building removal technologies that fit this framework and the conditions of the region.

Where we are

Built where the science is

MERSAAD is based at Dhahran Techno Valley in the Eastern Province, alongside one of the region's strongest applied research communities. Our work sits next to the KFUPM research campus, the resources our technologies use, and the industries that need them. Everything we depend on is within reach.

  • Dhahran Techno ValleyOur base, alongside the KFUPM research campus.
  • A research communityDirect access to talent, labs, and partners in carbon and energy science.
  • Resources at the doorstepCation-rich brine and abundant sand, the raw inputs our technologies use.
